Continues to serve legacy telco customers; trains future focus on enterprise availability and virtualisation solutions
Maynard, Mass., Jan. 7, 2009 – Stratus Technologies announced today that it has completed the sale of its ENTICE™ solutions business. The business will now operate independently as Stratus Telecommunications LLC and will be led by Nathan Franzmeier, the Stratus executive officer who was responsible for that business. Stratus Telecommunications based in Allen, Texas, acquires the ENTICE software solutions suite and customers of ENTICE systems. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Stratus Technologies acquired the ENTICE business when it purchased Emergent Network Solutions (ENS) in August 2006. Stratus customers, products and services in place prior to the ENS acquisition are not included in this sale, and will continue to be actively managed by the company.
“This transaction benefits both parties exceptionally well,” said David Laurello, Stratus Technologies president and CEO. “It allows us to focus energy and additional resources on strategic customer solutions for IT availability and virtualisation in the enterprise market. For Nathan and his team, competing in this fragmented and fast-moving industry requires an entrepreneurial mindset, organisation and agility in order to be most successful. That can be more effectively achieved as a separate entity.”
