Prior to taking up the role of Vice-President and Managing Director of Oracle Ireland in 2003, Nicky was Vice President of Oracle's Shared Services Centre in Dublin, which services all of Oracle’s back office services for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA.) In 1998, Mr Sheridan established the centre where customer, partner, supplier and employee data is controlled from Dublin for 42 countries in EMEA.
Nicky & his team redefined Oracle’s processes by simplifying, standardising, automating & centralising them in Dublin. The service is considerably cheaper than the previous decentralised organisation and offers a higher degree of control preferred by organisations where Corporate Governance remains the highest priority. It also means that Oracle’s structure is exceptionally agile and responsive to changes in the marketplace facilitating competitiveness.
In October 2005, Sheridan took up the appointment of Vice President & Managing Director of Oracle South Africa. In June 2008, Sheridan was promoted to Vice President CMUT MEA & Country Leader Oracle South Africa.
Sheridan established Oracle’s operations in Hungary in 1993 and later spent 5 years in Budapest working in Regional roles for Oracle in Eastern Europe before returning to Ireland to set up the SSC in 1998.
Originally from Wicklow in Ireland, Nicky holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UCD and is a Chartered Accountant. He previously held positions with KMPG, Dublin and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, San Jose, California before joining Oracle.
