Industry’s leading support policy protects Oracle investments

During his keynote today at the COLLABORATE conference, Oracle President Charles Phillips announced the company has waived Extended Support fees for a number of the Oracle major product lines through 2010 and 2011.
Oracle's Extended Support includes major product and technology releases; product updates; fixes and security alerts; tax, legal and regulatory requirements; upgrade scripts; and technical support.
Mr. Phillips announced that the company has waived the first year of Extended Support fees for the following products:
Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i10 - through November 2011
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.11- through December 2010
Siebel CRM 7.8 - through May 2011
Oracle Database 10g R2 - through July 2011
Mr. Phillips announced that the Extended Support fees would be waived for the PeopleSoft Enterprise 8.9 releases through June 2011.
Mr. Phillips also announced that for the Oracle E-Business Suite 11i9 release, Oracle would continue to provide resolution of severity-one technical issues and US year-end 1099 support through June 2010.
Today's announcement further demonstrates Oracle's commitment to protect customer investments as part of its Applications Unlimited and Lifetime Support programs.

Oracle Lifetime Support provides customers with the leading support policy in the industry. Lifetime Support provides access to technical experts, enables customers to take full advantage of product enhancements, and helps ensure that systems are available and secure. Simple, predictable, and flexible, the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy contains three stages of support:
Premier Support provides a standard five-year support policy for the entire suite of Oracle products - database, middleware, and applications.
Premier Support provides customers with full maintenance and support of Oracle technology and applications along with the access to upgrade to the next generation of their licensed applications.
Extended Support extends Premier Support for an additional three years on select releases for an additional fee.
Sustaining Support provides access to major product and technology releases and technical support including access to online support tools, Oracle knowledge bases, and call centre technical support for as long as customers license Oracle software.

"Today's announcement demonstrates Oracle's continued commitment to provide the highest level of support to customers in these difficult economic times," said Juergen Rottler, Oracle Executive Vice President, Global Customer Services. "Oracle's Lifetime Support is widely recognised as the most generous and comprehensive support program in the industry as it enables customers to upgrade to new releases at their own pace. Today's announcement further enhances the value of Oracle's Premier Support and helps customers reduce the total cost of ownership of their Oracle solutions."
"This announcement is extremely important to OAUG members because it gives them more options and greater flexibility in planning and execution of their upgrade cycles in this challenging economic environment" said Raymond Payne, president of the OAUG. "Oracle has demonstrated a strong commitment to ensure value is delivered not only with Oracle Premier Support, but all Oracle products and services.”
